My PHOBIAS series was created as the crowning achievement of my vocational training, serving as my final graduation project. We were given complete creative freedom for this assignment, leaving everything to our own imagination—and collection is the result of that freedom.
Everyone is afraid of something, whether that fear is grounded in reality or purely a figment of the imagination. With this project, I wanted to explore this very concept: are the things we experience as phobias truly worth fearing, or is our mind simply playing tricks on us?
In this photo series, I chose to portray phobias that trigger a sense of frustration or discomfort in me, even if they aren't all my personal fears. However, among the images, you will find my own actual phobia, alongside fears I first encountered while researching this project—some of which genuinely shocked me that they even existed. Because all of these concepts are deeply connected to me, I decided to step in front of the camera and be the protagonist of the series. After all, the only way to truly overcome our fears is to face them head-on.
